Stevee Wellons Band
Stevee Wellons, Vocalist Stephanie Wellons, aka Stevee Wellons, has been performing in the tri-state area for the last 25 years and is known for her high-energy stage presence and performance. In her early twenties she began her musical career. Since then, Stevee has performed with numerous area bands and currently teaches and coaches voice at the prestigious Afro-American Institute in the Homewood Area of Pittsburgh. An experienced recording artist as well, Stevee has recorded in Pittsburgh, New York, Chicago and Baltimore. Stevee Wellons Band won the 2015 Blues Society of Western PA's Blues Challenge and represented Western PA at the 2016 International Blues Challenge.
Cheryl Rinovat Guitarist,
Applied Music with 2nd major in Arranging and Composition at famed Berklee College of Music, Cheryl began her musical career as a studio musician throughout New England. Since moving to Pittsburgh, Cheryl has pursued her musical career as a professional musician for numerous area bands and has done extensive studio work. Cheryl has also been the recipient of the prestigious Jim Weber Award, given to blues guitarist of the year, three times; in 2012, 2103 and 2015.
Steve Binsberger Keyboardist,
Born in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia, Steve started his musical career at age 5 when his parents bought him his first keyboard (a tiny 27 key Emenee organ). He would play that for hours driving his parents crazy. At 8 years old he started playing the accordion and banging away at an old player piano. He got a taste of performing in bars at age 13 and spent many years honing his craft by playing in several “garage bands” around the Philadelphia area. Finally, while attending Penn State University, he met Billy Price. Steve spent many years on the road playing Blues and R&B with Pittsburgh great Billy Price and the Keystone Rhythm Band. He left Billy Price and went back to school to continue his education and later joined local band 8 th Street Rox performing in and around Pittsburgh for some 22 years. Recently, wanting to get back to his blues roots, he joined Jill West and Blues Attack and now also playing with The Stevee Wellons Band. You can find his playing on several albums and CD’s from Billy Price, Bill Toms and Hard Rain, Jimmy Adler, Joe Gruscheky and the House Rockers, Jill West & Blues Attack, as well as other local bands.
Jim Spears
Bassist,
Jim Spears is from Western Pennsylvania by way of Los Angeles, California. He's performed with a mix of national and local blues/soul/rock/Americana artists like the Vince Agwada Band, Sweaty Betty Blues Band, Christopher Mark Jones, B.E. Taylor Group, the Blues Women of Pittsburgh, Sputzy & The Soul Providers, Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers, and 8th Street Rox. Jim regularly works with the Stevee Wellons Band and the Midnight Express Band.
Allen Muckle Percussionist,
Allen Muckle started his drumming career at the age of nine. When he turned eleven, he started performing professionally in a trio with his brother and cousin, playing for private parties and weddings though out Western PA. As a senior in high school, Allen was chosen as one of two musicians from the State of Pennsylvania to participate in the McDonalds All American high school band, marching in the Macy's Day parade in NYC and Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena CA. After High School Allen attended Carnegie Mellon University and majored in Percussion. Allen continued his professional career by forming a band called Summer Hill and performed full time in hotels and major dance clubs throughout Western PA, Ohio & West Virginia. Allen also spent five years on the road performing in Major clubs on the East Coast and throughout the Mid West, and two years living & performing in Nashville TN. Currently, Allen continues his full time music career as a sought after performer in styles of Rock, jazz, Blues and Christian Contemporary, & also as an established music educator. He performs with some of Pittsburgh's prominent groups & musicians such as 8th Street Rox, the Rick Purcell Band, Kenny Blake, Jimmy Adler, Judi Figel, The Shari Richards Band and his current project, 'SWB: Stevee Wellons Band'.
